Side Trip to Los Barriles and Happenings in LaPaz

We went to see some of Brandt's friends who live each summer in an RV park in Los Barriles on the East side of the peninsula. The name, 'Los Barriles' means the barrels. This is where ships used to come and stock up on barrels of fresh water. From there we drove about one hour to the local swimming hole with a water falls. It was so refreshing and beautiful.  Maybe this is were they filled the barrels with fresh water.

I took this picture of a gallery photograph to show you the size of an adult whale shark. They are such gentle, beautiful creatures. But when they swim by you and you see their huge shark tail go by, it is a little frightening. I’m glad they don’t eat meat.

Brandt walking down a side street and one of the many cardón cacti that I enjoy so much down here on the Baja Peninsula.

We've seen many great concerts at the local arts theater at 40 pesos or $3.50 US.
